The KAR Sport Horses Marta Groom Excellence Award
The winner of this award will be announced next Friday the 24th at the end of the Nations Cup
This year, during the second week of the Andalucía October Tour at the beautiful Dehesa Montenmedio, the Andalucía Sunshine Tour is proud to host the presentation of the KAR Sport Horses Marta Santos Casamichana Groom Excellence Award.
Created in partnership with KAR Sport Horses, this special recognition is presented in honor of Marta Santos Casamichana, whose life was sadly lost in an accident on May 20, 2025, while en route to the CSIO3* in Peelbergen. Marta was a devoted groom and a cherished member of the KAR Sport Horses team, remembered for her dedication, warmth, and professionalism. Her tireless commitment to the horses she cared for, especially those of rider Carlos Bosch Cebrián, reflected her deep love for the sport and the true spirit of excellence that defines our community.
At the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, we have always held a profound respect and admiration for the grooms who form the backbone of equestrian sport. Together with KAR Sport Horses, we have created this award to honor those individuals whose care, expertise, and devotion make the success of every rider and horse possible. The Marta Santos Casamichana Groom Excellence Award celebrates the dedication, compassion, and quiet strength that shine behind the scenes, qualities Marta embodied every day.
The Andalucía Sunshine Tour was chosen with intention as the venue for this recognition. Marta participated here several times, and Dehesa Montenmedio holds a special place in her story. Honoring her memory in this setting is a meaningful way to celebrate her life and to acknowledge the vital contribution of all grooms who work tirelessly, often away from the spotlight, to ensure the welfare and success of their horses.
The recipient of the Marta Santos Casamichana Groom Excellence Award will be announced at the conclusion of the Nations Cup, on Friday 24th of October 2025.
